The MALES of Distinction (Making Achievable Life Enhancing Strides) Youth Program helps young males by providing guidance, support to focus on building self-esteem and improving young men’s overall well-being. The program affects the mindset of young males by providing resources to help them realize and respond to their strengths and weaknesses. In 2019 alone the organization served 25 male participants ranges in ages 8-15 years old
The Moore Free & Charitable Clinic (MFCC) is a non-profit organization that provides health care to the underserved community of Moore County, North Carolina since 2004. Our target population includes the uninsured, homeless, working poor, residents of public housing, and vulnerable populations. To date, MFCC has provided primary care to over 5,000 Moore County residents.
Sandhills/Moore Coalition was established in 1986 to alleviate hunger and financial strains of struggling households in Moore County. Preventing the downward spiral that may come from temporary setbacks, such as illness, job loss, or unexpected expenses, from resulting in a downward spiral for low income families. Each year the Coalition receives over 4,000 requests for assistance such as food, clothing, financial assistance, transportation and employment counseling.
Prancing Horse is a therapuetic riding center that exists to help people with special needs improve speech, balance, muscle tone, motor skills and self esteem. Through programmed lessons, instructors utilize horse riding to serve individuals with special needs and any others who would benefit from the program.
Linden Lodge is a residential care facility that promotes recovery for men and women with serious and persistent mental illness. Through treatment plans, residents, staff and volunteers work towards individualized goals centered around living, working and learning. Their vision is that people with mental illness achieve their full potential and are respected as individuals, neighbors, friends, volunteers, and co-workers.
The Dreams 4 All Foundation repurposes gently used mattresses by providing them to families in need. The mattresses they provide literally get people off of the floor and provide one of the most basic comforts that most of us enjoy to those who could not afford to do so otherwise.
One of the most visible and exciting components of the Northern Moore Family Resource Center is HOPE (Harnessing Opportunity—Promoting Education) Academy. HOPE Academy combines learning experiences and structured play in a nurturing, secure, literacy-rich environment. Additionally, the Northern Moore Family Resource Center served over 200 children in after school programs at Robbins Elementary School and Elise Middle School.
Their Mission for each and every resident is to see them gainfully employed, actively seeking employment, or enrolled in school. Help them seek new sober activities enhancing one's future and actively involved with 12 Step Meetings and Sponsorship.To seek or return to independent living arrangements, while building self-esteem by adhering to above principles. Finally, to become a productive, clean and sober member of society!
Located in Carthage, NC the Life Care Pregnancy Center's mission is to save the lives of the unborn and their mothers. With a staff trained to help meet the spiritual needs of the clients as well as build relationships with the clients and walk beside them in their walk with Christ. The facility offers free and confidential pregnancy center to empower young women with the knowledge to make the best decision for themselves. They provide a myriad of services including alternatives to abortion, pregnancy screening, weekly classes for parenting skills and much more.
